Make Mine Music

San Francisco Symphony

Throughout the month of January, the San Francisco Symphony will be performing an impressive slate of incredible performances. Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas has ensured that January 2018 will be a month to remember in the storied history of the symphony. Beautiful Davies Symphony Hall, the home of the San Francisco Symphony, is about 35 minutes from the LiA Hotel, but all of these performances are worth the drive. On January 11, Emmanuel Ax performs 2 piano concertos including Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 14 and R. Strauss’s Til Eulenspiegel’s Merry Pranks. January 14 is the wildly popular Bay Area Youth Orchestra Festival. Michael Tilson Thomas conducts Leonard Bernstein’s Candide on January 18. To close the month, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will perform with soloist Gautier Capucon on January 28, and they will perform Stravinksy’s Petroshka on January 29. Regardless of which performance you are able to attend, you are sure to have a magical experience at the symphony.
